Bernhard Maier, sales director of Porsche Automotive, said that the production capacity of the Porsche Cayenne SUV will increase by 10% to 20% in 2012. Due to insufficient production capacity, the model has achieved as many as 12 in the longest lead time in the Chinese market. In February, Porsche hoped to reduce the waiting time of consumers to less than six months.

“We are looking for ways to expand our production capacity so as to be able to provide consumers with faster service,” Mebona said. “Car sales data in the first half of the year shows that our performance has maintained a rapid growth in the global market.”

It is understood that Porsche plans to double its vehicle sales in 2015 and increase its sales volume from 97,000 in 2010 to 200,000. In the first half of 2011, Porsche sold 60,700 vehicles globally, an increase of 36% compared to the same period last year.
