According to Wei Diansheng, in order to ease energy shortages, achieve energy complementarities, and develop clean energy, the State Forestry Administration has formulated a forestry biomass energy development plan. Wei Dangsheng said in an interview with this reporter that the State Forestry Administration will initially plan to build a biodiesel raw material forest demonstration base in 7 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. The Forestry Bureau will promote the construction of a biodiesel raw material forest demonstration base at a rate of 1 million mu per year.
Wei Diansheng said that China's biodiesel raw materials include four major tree species, namely, Jatropha curcas, Pistacia chinensis, Xanthoceras sorbifolia, and glossy bark. Among them, Jatropha curcas is suitable for planting in Yunnan, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou and Other places; Pistacia chinensis is suitable for planting in Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi and other places; and Xanthoceras sorbifolia is suitable for planting in Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Liaoning, Heilongjiang and Shaanxi; Suitable for planting trees in Hunan, Jiangxi and other places. The biodiesel raw material forest demonstration base will select tree species and advanced planting techniques according to local conditions.
It is understood that the shortage and distribution of raw material forest resources has become a bottleneck problem in the development of biodiesel in China. Since 2007, the State Forestry Administration has begun cooperation with major oil companies such as CNPC to promote forest oil integration.
