According to reports, FDW-3 catalyst has high activity, long service life (more than 8 months longer than similar foreign catalysts), low price, high yield of low-condensation diesel, and high quality. Experts pointed out that the northern part of the existing more than 4,000 tons / year of diesel hydrogenation capacity, all use FDW-3 catalyst, can increase low-condensation point, high cetane number of 1 million tons of diesel fuel, cost savings of more than 100 billion yuan. At the same time, the overall energy consumption of diesel hydrogenation units can be reduced by more than 10%.

The remarkable price/performance advantage has enabled FDW-3 catalysts to be rapidly deployed and applied in North China refineries in particular since 2010. At present, except for a few refineries such as PetroChina Daqing and Harbin, most of the refineries in China have used FDW-3 catalysts. The total of 2.2 million tons/year of diesel hydrotreating equipment used by Yanchang Petroleum Group's refinery companies Yongping Refinery, Yulin Refinery, and Yan'an Petrochemical Plant shows that the use of FDW-3 pour point depressant catalyst compared to imported high-efficiency pour point depressant catalysts The material inlet temperature of the diesel hydrogenation unit can be reduced by 10°C~18°C, the reaction conditions of the device are milder; the diesel yield is increased by more than 2.5%; the cetane number of the low-condensation diesel is increased by 3 units, and the price is only the import catalyst About half of it.

The pour point depressant catalyst is mainly used in the diesel hydrogenation unit of the petroleum refining device. After the synergistic use with the hydrogenation catalyst, it can not only reduce the impurities such as phosphorus, sulfur, and nitrogen in diesel, but also significantly reduce the condensation point of diesel oil and improve the quality of diesel oil. . In order to adapt the diesel fuel to the application requirements under low temperature conditions, the Northern Hemisphere and North China refineries generally use a pour point depressant catalyst to produce low-condensation point diesel oil. In China, the domestically developed FDW-1 hydrogen dehydration catalyst was used more than ever before. However, although this catalyst can produce -10#, -25# or even -35# diesel fuel, it has the disadvantages of high energy consumption, low diesel yield, and low cetane number. Some refineries have to import high-efficiency depressant catalysts at high prices in order to obtain high-quality diesel products, but this product has been monopolized by foreign companies.

The research team headed by Meng Xianglan, senior engineer of Fushun Petrochemical Institute of Sinopec, combined with the advantages and disadvantages of FDW-1 hydrogenation and dehydration catalysts and foreign high-performance drop catalysts, finally developed the FDW-3 high-performance hydrogenation catalyst. In 2007, for the first time, the catalyst was tested at the 200,000-ton/year diesel hydrogenation unit at the Yanping Petroleum Group Yongping Refinery. The research group and the technical personnel of Yanchang Petroleum Refining & Chemical Company analyzed, improved and optimized the catalyst formulation and processing technology for the actual application exposure, and finally successfully developed the FDW-3 catalyst with excellent performance indicators.
