According to the latest data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers on the 9th, the production and sales of domestic automobiles in the first five months of this year were 8.003 million and 802.35 million, respectively, an increase of 3.19% and 1.70% year-on-year. Statistics show that in May domestic production of 1.709 million vehicles, a decrease of 4.66%, an increase of 16.19%; sales of 1.6072 million, a decrease of 1.06%, a year-on-year increase of 15.97%.

The monthly sales data of domestic mainstream car manufacturers that were announced successively last week also showed that a small peak appeared in the Chinese auto market in May. The Japanese cars represented by Toyota, Honda, and Nissan continue to make rapid progress. The increase of 105% further boosts Toyota's confidence. Only Mazda is different, with negative growth in May.

The luxury car market seems pretty good. In addition to only 0.8% micro growth Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW have achieved a 30% or even higher growth rate.

Honda has also achieved considerable growth with Toyota. In May, Honda sold 52,000 vehicles in China, an increase of 91.7% compared to the same period last year. Audi BMW's growth was alarming. In May, FAW-VW Audi sold a total of 36,000 new cars to the Chinese market, an increase of 45% year-on-year.

BMW Group sold 27,185 vehicles in China in May, an increase of 31.5% year-on-year. This sales volume includes the total sales of the BMW brand, MINI brand and Rolls-Royce brand. Among them, BMW's brand accounted for 25,500 units, an increase of 31% from the same period of last year in May.

Mercedes-Benz, taking into account the Hong Kong market, in May this year, Daimler sold 16,529 Mercedes-Benz cars in the Chinese market, compared with the previous 16401 sales increased slightly by 0.8% year-on-year. From January to May of this year, Mercedes-Benz's cumulative sales in the Chinese market reached 82,534 units, which represented an increase of 8.7% from the same period last year of 75,896 units.

Wuling accounted for half of the country's total sales. In May, SAIC-GM-Wuling sold 128,680 vehicles, an increase of 35.4% year-on-year; Wuling's brand increased 33.5% year-on-year to 120,652 units, and its market share further increased from April to 53.6%.
